Laptop Checkin Beta Test

We at Miramar Design are beta testing a free new program.

It's web-based laptop recovery system so that if you lose your laptop you have a chance at retrieval.   No installation neccessary, all you have to do is reset your browser's homepage as below and your laptop will check in and report its ip everytime the browser is started.
Internet Explorer and Firefox Friendly, although IE will spawn another window.

Set your home page to something like:

Usage:  Replace the email address 'example@example.com' with a webmail email address that you can use if your laptop is stolen.
Replace the 'exampleuser' with any username you want(registration not yet implemented). And lastly, set the homepage 'digg.com' to your chosen homepage that you will be redirected to after the browser checks in. (We recommend digg.com though :) )
*Requirements:  Java Virtual Machine installed as plugin on Browser, Modern Browser w/ resettable homepage.  (I'm curious to know if it works on any java enabled phone browsers please add comment if you have tested this)

If someone nefarious gets ahold of your laptop and then uses the browser, the local ip and public ip that can be used to find their location (with a supoena) is sent to your email so that you can report it to the authorities.

Easy Setup Form
IE users can use this form to help them reset their homepage to laptop checkin.  For other browsers this form will create the text that you can paste into the browser's homepage field.
